- Stars Quotes -

There should have been a period when most of the atoms in the universe were neutral. This would have continued until stars and galaxies began forming.
~ George Becker

We must see that consciousness is neither an isolated soul nor the mere function of a single nervous system, but of that totality of interrelated stars and galaxies which makes a nervous system possible.
~ Alan Watts

This galaxy appears to have 'bulked up' amazingly quickly, within a few hundred million years after the Big Bang. It made about eight times more mass in terms of stars than are found in our own Milky Way today, and then, just as suddenly, it stopped forming new stars. It appears to have grown old prematurely.
~ Bahram Mobasher

Our sun is one of 100 billion stars in our galaxy. Our galaxy is one of billions of galaxies populating the universe. It would be the height of presumption to think that we are the only living things in that enormous immensity.
~ Werner von Braun

I've loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.
~ Galileo Galilei

Don't you see what's at stake here? The ultimate aim of all science to penetrate the unknown. Do you realize we know less about the earth we live on than about the stars and the galaxies of outer space? The greatest mystery is right here, right under our feet.
~ Walter Reisch

Though free to think and act, we are held together, like the stars in the firmament, with ties inseparable. These ties cannot be seen, but we can feel them.
~ Nikola Tesla

The Milky Way is nothing else but a mass of innumerable stars planted together in clusters.
~ Galileo Galilei

Probably most galaxies are truncated-the density of stars in the disk drops off sharply. But NGC 300 just seems to go on forever. The density of stars in the disk falls off very smoothly and gradually
~ Ken Freeman

Dreams are like stars...you may never touch them, but if you follow them they will lead you to your destiny.
~ Author Unknown

He who exercises government by means of his virtue may be compared to the north polar star, which keeps its place and all the stars turn towards it.
~ Confucius

The ultimate aim of all science to penetrate the unknown. Do you realize we know less about the earth we live on than about the stars and the galaxies of outer space? The greatest mystery is right here, right under our feet.
~ Walter Reisch

Ignorance is the night of the mind, but a night without moon and star.
~ Confucius

We are just an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star. But we can understand the Universe. That makes us something very special.
~ Stephen Hawking

Look out into the universe and contemplate the glory of God. Observe the stars, millions of them, twinkling in the night sky, all with a message of unity, part of the very nature of God.
~ Sai Baba

Things are as they are. Looking out into it the universe at night, we make no comparisons between right and wrong stars, nor between well and badly arranged constellations.
~ Alan Watts

Who are we? We find that we live on an insignificant planet of a humdrum star lost in a galaxy tucked away in some forgotten corner of a universe in which there are far more galaxies than people.
~ Carl Sagan

The stars twinkle in the Milky Way and the wind sighs for songs across the empty fields of a planet a Galaxy away.
~ L. Ron Hubbard

A galaxy is composed of gas and dust and stars - -billions upon billions of stars.
~ Carl Sagan

If we see a star at a large distance from the center of the galaxy, that star is going to be mostly moving either away from the center or back toward the center. Almost certainly, most of its motion is perpendicular to our line of sight.
~ Avishai Dekel

We removed everything we knew--all the stars and galaxies both near and far.
~ John Mather

It still amazes me how many millions goes to discovering another star in the galaxies when, for all we know, we are still sitting on top of another undiscovered world beneath out feet.
~ Martin Dansky

A single ray of light from a distant star falling upon the eye of a tyrant in bygone times, may have altered the course of his life, may have changed the destiny of nations, may have transformed the surface of the globe, so intricate, so inconceivably complex are the processes of nature.
~ Alan Boss

I am undecided whether or not the Milky Way is but one of countless others all of which form an entire system. Perhaps the light from these infinitely distant galaxies is so faint that we cannot see them.
~ Nikola Tesla

Enthusiasm is the yeast that makes your hopes shine to the stars. Enthusiasm is the sparkle in your eyes, the swing in your gait. The grip of your hand, the irresistible surge of will and energy to execute your ideas.
~ Henry Ford
