He is the 14th Dalai Lama, a spiritual leader revered among the people of Tibet.
He is both the head of state and the spiritual leader of Tibet. His Holiness proposed the Five Point Peace Plan for Tibet as
the first step towards a peaceful solution to the worsening situation in Tibet. He envisaged that Tibet would become a sanctuary;
a zone of peace at the heart of Asia, where all sentient beings can exist in harmony and the delicate environment can be preserved.

Peace and the survival of life on earth as we know it are threatened by human activities that lack a
commitment to humanitarian values. Destruction of nature and natural resources results from ignorance, greed and lack of
respect for the earth's living things.

Under the bright sun, many of us are gathered together with different languages, different styles of dress,
even different faiths. However, all of us are the same in being humans, and we all uniquely have the thought of "I," and
we're all the same in wanting happiness and in wanting to avoid suffering.
~ Dalai Lama
If you have fear of some pain or suffering, you should examine whether there is anything you can do about it.
If you can, there is no need to worry about it; if you cannot do anything, then also there is no need to worry.
~ Dalai Lama
If there is love, there is hope to have real families, real brotherhood, real equanimity, real peace. If the love within your mind is lost,
if you continue to see other beings as
enemies, then no matter how much knowledge or education you have, no matter how much material progress is made, only suffering and confusion will ensue.
~ Dalai Lama

One of the characteristics of karmic theory is that there is a definite, commensurate relationship between cause and effect. There is no way that
negative actions or unwholesome deeds can result in joy and happiness. Joy and happiness, by definition, are the results
or fruits of wholesome actions. So from that point of view, it is possible for us to admire not so much the immediate action, but the real causes of joy.
~ Dalai Lama
Just as we should cultivate more gentle and peaceful relations with our fellow human beings, we should also extend
that same kind of attitude towards the natural environment. Morally speaking, we should be concerned for our whole environment.
~ Dalai Lama
Today, more than ever before, life must be characterized by a
sense of Universal responsibility, not only nation to nation and human to human, but also human to other forms of life.
~ Dalai Lama
If you can, help others; if you cannot do that, at least do not harm them.

He was an Indian philosopher, spiritual teacher in the north eastern region of the Indian subcontinent who
founded Buddhism. In most Buddhist traditions, he is regarded as the Supreme and "the enlightened one."
Born and bread to be a king, Buddha left all his worldly pleasures and possessions to learn about the world
and find the true meaning of existence. After being shielded from both religion and human suffering during his life,
he had eye and mind-opening experiences through travel, meditation, and study that would lay the groundwork for one of
the world's most prominent religions.
