She was formally beatified in October 2003 by Pope John Paul II and is now known as Blessed Teresa of Calcutta. She was a famous Catholic nun who helped the poor people of India. Her selfless work among the poverty-stricken people of Calcutta) became a symbol and motivation for people all over the world and she was honored with Nobel Peace Prize for her work in 1979 and India’s highest civilian honor.
She was a living saint who offered a great example and inspiration to the world.
